Oman Quiz

Take a look at this picture from the Oman Worlds Website and comment on all of the reasons why this was not rigged by a Laser/Torch sailor (hint: I see six):

  1. Let me start with a couple and leave some for other people to guess.

    1. No real Laser sailor would place his perfect scratch free shiny hull on those rocks.

    2. The sail is twisted on the mast.

    2. Mainsheet not passed through boom strap
    3. No centerboard - clearly not ready to sail
    4. Incorrect clew tension. Too loose.

  4. I've never seen a real Laser sailor with a telltale so close to the mast.

  5. The mainsheet is tight but there are no cleats - it appears to be knotted off around the mainsheet block.

    Maybe my eyes are getting old, but I dont see any outhaul.

  7. On a serious note, I have heard that if you go to Oman you should definitely set aside some time to explore the mountains.
